You have to be willing to endure
the risks that accompany unguarded
vulnerability because the rewards
your heart may receive are far greater.
There’s just an immeasurable beauty
that comes with being unafraid
to throw caution to the wind and
simply follow the path love flows.
You have to just dive in
and just hope they’ll
reach to pull you up
and not let you drown.
Because it’s in the moment
between that gasp of new air
and almost taking your last…
That you just might find
a love worth drowning for.
I want to bottle up the novelty of us
I just want to enjoy these feelings indefinitely
I don’t want bad times to disrupt these vibes.
I don’t want this heat to diminish or worse,
ignite a fire we can no longer control.
I just want to bottle up the novelty of us
You love the ugliest parts of me
When I’m an emotional wreck
When my words are unkind
When my being is disheveled
You love the ugliest parts of me still…
“Have enough courage to trust love one more time and always one more time.” –Maya Angelou
I choose to be vulnerable in love, in like even and that always leaves my heart bruised. Broken once but bruised often. But even still, the nostalgia of the perfect moments in between is why I’ll forever allow my heart to love and live in a vulnerable space. I can’t and won’t apologize for who I am and I can’t make anyone see the beauty in such a scary, thrilling and risky approach. I can only continue “to trust love one more time and always one more time.”
