I know this “self care” vibe is trendy now but I really like myself. I really enjoy being by myself because self love could never feel lonely. In a perfect world, I’d turn my phone off for days and just zone out. I’ve mastered the sort of inner peace that makes me run away from anything or anyone that disrupts it. So keep following the “self care” trend. I hope you accidentally fall in love with yourself in the process. It’s truly a gift.
“Eat like you love yourself. Move like you love yourself. Speak like you love yourself. Act like your love yourself. Love yourself.” — Tara Stiles
I once had someone tell me
that he couldn’t be with me
because of my past traumas.
Not because I hadn’t processed them
but because I had and chosen to forgive.
He couldn’t bring himself to do the same.
Before then, I had never thought about
the people who’d love me later in life.
That they too would have to process and
forgive the same people who hurt me
before they even knew or loved me.
“We don’t have to do all of it alone. We were never meant to.” -Brené Brown
Fish in water don’t realize they’re in water until they are gasping for air on land. Much like the priviledged don’t realize their advantages until they’re disadvantaged. They just keep swimming while others drown without water.
“When you are accustomed to privilege, equality feels like oppression.” ― Oscar Auliq-Ice
That thing you keep fighting against isn’t “them”. Its your spirit telling you it’s time to operate differently. But like the humans we are, our natural reaction is to fight against it. Enter that other zone! Step away from all you’ve known and take hold of the discomfort needed to level up in all aspects, it’s time! No more excuses. Just do it.
“Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.” –Barack Obama
is an on ongoing process.
We forgive but the fact that
we can’t seem to forget
Starts the process all over again.
But that’s OK…
We owe it to ourselves
to continue the laboring
journey of forgiving.
“It’s not an easy journey to get to a place where you forgive people. But it’s such a powerful place, because it frees you.” -Tyler Perry
